Sleep Resource
With great care, love and attention we have put together a group of products to
make the sleep experience for the whole family more healthy, restful and
luxurious.
We feel that solving sleep problems is a bespoke process, each
individual has there own problems and will find the best way to remedy them.
However sleep problems and insomnia can be considered serious if they last over
a couple of months and if they persist may be caused by a medical condition.
We
thought it would be a lovely to put together a resource where you can get in
touch with all the relevant bodies if you suspect it may be a medical matter
that is preventing you from sleeping.

Snoring
The bane of many peoples life, we have all probably been affected by this at
some time or another. It is impossible to cure snoring but it is possible to
control it, as it is caused by some sort of physical abnormality, and this
needs to be identified before it can be controlled.
There is some really helpful information at www.britishsnoring.co.uk
Narcolepsy

sufferer to fall into REM sleep at inappropriate times, causes excessive

Restless Leg Syndrome
Is not strictly a sleep problem but can seriously affect the sleep patterns of
sufferers leaving them feeling sleepy and depressed. Sufferers experience
pains, cramps, tingles and many other symptoms in their legs. These symptoms
can only be relieved by moving the legs; movement only offers a brief respite
and leads to sufferers having to constantly move their legs.

Night Terrors
This is characterised by extreme terror and an inability to become fully
conscious. It is different from nightmares as the sufferer does not dream; they
just have an immense feeling of terror. It is normally accompanied by screams
and shouts and can be very scary for anyone witnessing the attack. The sufferer
usually continues with normal sleep without waking after the attack.

Sleepwalking
Is a sleep disorder where the sufferer is asleep but carries out activities that
normally happen when the sufferer is awake. It occurs when the sufferer awakes
suddenly from Slow Wave Sleep or deep sleep. This type of sleep is more common
in children and young adults. It is a common myth that sleepwalkers should not
be woken, there is no risk to the sleepwalker by being woken apart from
embarrassment! However injury can be caused if the sufferer attempts to perform
a dangerous task while sleepwalking. There has been instance of sufferers
falling from windows and it is advised to lock all windows and doors if there
is a sleepwalker in the house. Closely related to sleep walking is sleep
talking. Sleep talking poses little risk to the sufferer, but like snoring can
greatly affect the sleep of others.
