Mattress Buying Guide
30 December 2009
We understand the importance of finding the correct mattress. We offer the perfect choice of bed mattresses to ensure both you and your family get the best night’s sleep possible.
We cater especially for people who have sleep problems and offer a product range selected to help you regain your natural sleeping pattern by negating the effects of outside influences.
Many of our Mattresses are available as a Made to Measure Mattress where the mattress is made bespoke to your specifications, giving you the perfect mattress to drift away on.
When buying your mattress you need to consider the fillings that go on top of the core of your mattress (for example a Foam, Open Sprung Pocket Sprung, Memory Foam or Latex) as if the fillings are not deep enough you will not be supported properly and will suffer from a bad night’s sleep. Talking to whoever you are buying your mattress from about fillings is a good way to tell whether they know the product they are talking about.
We understand that buying a Mattress is an important decision. We hope that this guide will help you to choose the right Mattress for you. If you have any questions about any of our Mattresses, please do not hesitate to contact us as We Love talking about Sleep!
FOAM MATTRESS
What is It?
• A Foam mattress uses 100% hypoallergenic fillings so is fresh and clean
• The foam used is High Density Enhanced Polyurethene with a high density core for additional support and comfort
• The Mattress has a Medium feel to it
• We would recommend this Mattress for Kids Beds and Bunks or on a Bed that is used occasionally
What are the Health Benefits?
• A Foam Mattress can be 100% dust mite free if it has a removable, washable cover or is used with an Aegis treated cover. If a Foam Mattress has a normal cover it cannot be classed as Dust Mite Free.
• In our range we have a Foam Mattress with a removable cover for those who suffer from Dust Mite Allergies that can be seen here and a starter Kids Mattress which can be viewed here
OPEN SPRUNG MATTRESS
What is it?
• An Open Sprung Mattress, also known as an Open Coil Mattress or a Bonnell Mattress, is constructed around a series of springs. All the springs in an Open Sprung Mattress move as one, providing a supportive surface on which to snooze.
• An Open Sprung Mattress is the perfect starter mattress for your child.
What are the health benefits?
• Within our range of Open Sprung Mattresses we have Mattresses that are suitable for those with allergies, including chemical allergies and dust mite allergies.

POCKET SPRUNG MATTRESS
What is it?
• Like an Open Sprung Mattress, a Pocket Sprung Mattress is constructed around a series of springs. However, unlike the traditional Open Sprung Mattress where all the springs move as one, Pocket Sprung Mattresses have a spring unit where each individual spring moves independently.
• Because the springs in a Pocket Sprung Mattress work independently, Pocket Sprung Mattresses feel denser and are more supportive than Open Sprung Mattresses.
• In a Pocket Sprung Mattress the springs respond to individual body weight and move with the contours of the body. The Mattress will gently cushion those heavier areas of your body and provide support where you need it most - around the bottom of your back and your neck and shoulders.
• Because a Pocket Sprung Mattress responds to individual body shape and weight it is able to cater to the needs of both you and your partner, making it ideal if there is a weight or size variation between you and your partner. A Pocket Sprung Mattress can prevent you and your partner from disturbing each other’s sleep by rolling towards each other in the night.
• A Pocket Sprung Mattress reduces the impact of your partner’s movements during the night, leading to less disturbances and better sleep for you both.
What are the health benefits?
• Compared with an Open Sprung Mattress, A Pocket Sprung Mattress is more responsive to weight and sleeping position and can provide a greater level of support. This makes a Pocket Sprung Mattress a good choice for those who suffer from back problems or stiff joints.
• Within our range of Pocket Sprung Mattresses we have Organic Pocket Sprung Mattresses that are fully natural and free from chemicals and Anti Allergy Pocket Sprung Mattresses that are suitable for those with dust mite allergies.

MEMORY FOAM MATTRESS
What is it?
• Memory Foam Mattresses are made from foam that responds to body heat, causing the foam to soften. The Mattress then moulds to the contours of your body, providing excellent support and comfort and a sleep surface that is just right for you.
• A Memory Foam Mattress allows the body's weight to be spread more evenly across the surface, ensuring that every inch of you is supported in just the right way.
• Because a Memory Foam Mattress moulds to individual body shape and weight it is ideal if there is a weight or size variation between you and your partner. A Memory Foam Mattress can prevent you and your partner from disturbing each other’s sleep by rolling towards each other in the night.
• A Memory Foam Mattress reduces the impact of your partner’s movements during the night by absorbing movement, leading to less disturbances and better sleep for you both.
• As it has no springs, a Memory Foam Mattress is totally silent.
• We Love Sleep have joined up with an award winning memory foam mattress manufacturer and are able to offer their expertise to our customers looking for Memory Foam Mattresses.
What are the health benefits?
• If you suffer from back problems, stiff joints or find it painful to lay down in bed the pressure relieving qualities of a Memory Foam Mattress can give you the night's sleep you have always dreamed of.
• A Memory Foam Mattress supports proper alignment of the spine during sleep, which can help ease back pain and headaches.
• Memory Foam Mattresses can promote good blood circulation. By supporting the whole body, a Memory Foam Mattress can reduce tingling and numbness in feet and arms for those people who have poor circulation.
• Memory Foam Mattresses are very comfortable and conducive to sleeping so may help those with sleeping problems, such as insomnia, to get a good night’s rest.
• Within our range of Memory Foam Mattresses we have Mattresses that are suitable for those Dust Mite Alergies

LATEX MATTRESS
What is it?
.
• Natural Latex provides a natural alternative to Memory Foam and is known as Nature’s Memory Foam. A Latex Mattress allows the body's weight to be spread evenly across the surface, ensuring that every inch of you is supported in just the right way. The Latex moulds to the body’s contours, providing excellent support and comfort. However, Latex differs from Memory Foam in that you do not sink down into it. The Latex moves up to support your body, especially around the bottom of your back and around your shoulders.
• Because a Latex Mattress moulds to individual body shape and weight it is ideal if there is a weight or size variation between you and your partner. A Latex Mattress can prevent you and your partner from disturbing each other’s sleep by rolling towards each other in the night.
• A Latex Mattress reduces the impact of your partner’s movements during the night by absorbing movement, leading to less disturbances and better sleep for you both.
• Latex has a resilient feel with excellent durability. Latex Mattresses last longer than synthetic mattresses.
• Our Latex Mattresses are created using the Dunlop method of production, where the latex is poured into a mould. This gives a longer lasting, more comfortable Mattress.
• As it has no springs, a Latex Mattress it is totally silent.
