Alpaca Wool Duvet

You Will Love These Organic Alpaca Wool Duvets If

  • You suffer from Asthma, Alpaca Wool has a hollow fibre that creates a cool, dry environment in which dust mites will not be able to breed
  • Your temperature fluctuates during the night;hot at first and then you are woken by being cold-the crescent moon stitching we use on our duvet allows more airflow throught the duvet than a conventionally stictched one
  • You want a soft, luxurious duvet to snuggle under

What is Alpaca Wool?

  • Alpaca's are native to South America and are an animal that is bred for their Wool and not for their meat
  • They live in temperatures from under 0ºc to over 35ºc. Their Wool helps them to control their temperature and keeps them warm in winter and cool in summer
  • Their Wool has a soft glossy feel to it and has hollow fibres, which is the secret behind how they control their body temperature so well. Hollow fibres are porous so keep your duvet dry and clean, creating an environment that dust mites cannot live in

What are the Health Benefits of an Organic Alpaca Wool Duvet?

  • Dust mites are unable to live inside the duvet and the Alpaca Wool creates a dry environment
  • 50% of respiratory allergies are triggered by dust mite droppings and this duvet is perfect for those who suffer from these allergies, such as Asthma
  • These duvets help you to control your body temperature better. If you wake from being too hot or too cold in the night, the natural materials help your internal thermostat keep your temperature constant meaning your sleep is less likely to be interrupted and you wake up feeling fresh and ready for the day
  • Our Alpaca Duvets use an unique stitching technique that allows greater air flow throught the duvet than duvets that use the conventional way of stitching from top to bottom
  • Perfect if you suffer from night sweats, overheat in bed due to diabetes, or are going through the menopause. At the other end of the spectrum these duvets will offer relief for those who are too cold in bed, for example if you suffer from bad blood circulation

How Are They Made?

  • The Alpaca duvets are handmade in Western Canada by a company who have been making Alpaca duvets and pillows since 1977
  • The Alpaca Wool used in the duvets is taken from Alpaca's that are shorn of their wool in spring all over Western Canada and sent to a processing mill, where it is mixed with a little sheep's wool (to give it extra loft) and it is then sent to be turned into luxurious duvets
  • The white cotton cover is then stuffed with the soft, snuggly wool and little crescent moons are stitched at irregular intervals the full length and breadth of the duvet to prevent bunching and also to allow greater air flow through the duvet

What Did The Sunday Times Say About Our Alpaca Wool Duvets?

"We Love Sleep claims to have created the bedding equivalent of the Ugg Boot. Its new Organic Alpaca Wool Duvet helps to maintain a constant body temperature, ensuring a good night's sleep throughout the year. Alpaca Wool is naturally anti-allergenic, as its hollow fibres are not a suitable breeding ground for dust mites. The duvets come in four sizes and have been cleverly designed and stiched to prevent bunching"

What Our Customers Think of the Duvets

Dear James,

I am just so thrilled with my new Alpaca Duvet that I would like to purchase another one. What a difference to the feather duvets I've had in the past. This Alpaca duvet is so light and does seem to breath. Plus I am not waking up in the middle of the night fighting with the duvet because I am hot. Glad I read your article and bought my first good nights sleep!

Best regards,

A.Preston
