Care Instructions
Multree Silk Filled Duvets
As delicate as it feels against your skin, silk is actually an extremely strong protein fibre similar to human hair. By knowing the right way to care for your silk, you can keep it looking and feeling in top conditions for years to come. Word of warning: never use harsh detergents or bleach—they will strip the finish and possibly ruin the silk. For washing, We Love Sleep recommends using a brand of silk wash or colorless shampoo like Ecover Ecological Washing Liquid for Fine Fabrics and Wool.
Caring for your Multree Silk Duvet
To prolong the use of the Multree Silk Duvet, we recommend using a silk duvet cover to protect the silk from general wear, tear and staining. If you feel your duvet can use refreshing, we suggest airing it out or if you find it necessary, dry cleaning.
Multree Silk Duvets can be machine washed at 40 degrees using a brand of silk wash or colorless shampoo like Ecover Ecological Washing Liquid for Fine Fabrics and Wool. For a small stain, you can spot clean the area using water and a silk detergent. To maintain fluffiness and heat retention, your duvet should be aired out in the sun, giving the sunlight an opportunity to draw out trapped moisture and restore life to the duvet. Limit airing to 1-2 hours, depending of the amount of sunlight.
Retaining Fluffiness
Every night during sleep the human body expels approximately 200cc of moisture. When the duvet feels weighty, or begins to lose its heat retention or fluffiness, it needs to be aired out in the sun. Sunlight will draw out trapped moisture and restore fluffiness to the duvet. Limit each airing to one to two hours, depending on amount of sunlight.
Multree Silk Filled Pillows
To prolong the use of the Multree Silk Pillow, We Love Sleep recommends using a silk pillow case to protect the silk from general wear, tear and staining. If you feel your pillow can use refreshing, we suggest airing it out or if you find it necessary, dry cleaning. For a stain, you can spot clean the area using water and a silk detergent. Do not hand wash or machine wash the silk pillow. To maintain fluffiness and heat retention, your pillow should be aired out in sun, giving the sunlight an opportunity to draw out trapped moisture and restore life to the pillow. Limit airing to 1-2 hours, depending o the amount of sunlight.
Multree Silk Linen
